Freestyle Features 09.19

Happy Monday!  I hope you all enjoyed the weekend.  We had gorgeous weather here, watched some football, enjoyed time with friends, I got some projects done (babyproofing... unfortunately nothing crafty but accomplishment is accomplishment) and best of all, I got two whole days of baby snuggles.

Following that, Monday is always a bit of a letdown, but it's not so bad that my week starts out on a note of dread or anything.  There are good things about Mondays, too. :) I've been enjoying the weekend's links over my coffee this morning and I am loving all the awesome fall projects you mamas are working on.  I love the colors and the natural elements in fall decor, don't you?

Not everything was all-fall this week, though - there were amazing links of all kinds!  First, the top-clicked links:

Carol-Anne at Use the Good Dishes! shared a really interesting post on decorating in regards to choosing trendy colors for your furniture.  If you are thinking you're safe with your brown sofa, Adrianne... well, just read what she has to say.  I hadn't really considered this perspective before but it makes perfect sense!

Check out these adorable and adaptable slippers from vixenMade - perfect for scrap-busting and the cool weather nearly upon us!

Mommy by Day Crafter by Night shared an awesome tutorial on a bag she dubbed, "The Copy Cat Bag".  Great tutorial and I just love, love the ruffles!!

One of my favorites was also a really popular project.  Jacki from Crafting Mom nearly gave me a heart attack by cutting up books for these gorgeous pumpkins.  I don't know if I can do it.  Now, these are truly beautiful display pieces, and perfectly-themed for the avid reader.  I just don't know if I have the stomach for book surgery.  Maybe I can convince my husband to wield the exacto knife for me. :)

I also adore this little Halloween Treat Box that Sarah at Alderberry Hill shared:

I was so excited to see this tutorial on how to make your own fabric labels - I love putting labels on the things I make for Raya, but I know I overpaid someone else to do it for me.  Thank you to Irina at Sew in the City!!

Eleven-O-One had a fabulous gossip bench re-do, but what made me love this post were her thoughts on the history on this piece of furniture.  So sweet!

Great job, mamas!  Feel free to grab a feature button from the sidebar or the buttons page if you like.  Thanks to everyone for linking up!
