Sunday Series: Football Dip

There is one recipe that has my name attached to it, as in, "you have to try Adrianne's Football Dip."  For a non-foodie, that's an accomplishment worth being proud of.

It is NOT healthy, it's a very hearty man-dip. ;) Which makes it such a great addition during football season, and how it came to be known as football dip around our house.

It's hard to tell under the layer of cheese, but it's a chili-based dip, and fabulous with tortilla chips.

The Recipe:
1 lb. ground beef
1 can of chili (or use about 2 c. of leftovers!)
1 package taco seasoning
1 small can of tomato sauce (I think they're 8 oz?)
1/4 c. water
1 - 2 c. shredded cheese (to your tastes, I generally use around 3/4 of a package)

Brown and drain beef, then add chili, taco seasoning, tomato sauce and water.  Heat up to a simmer.  Patiently answer impatient football fans, that no, it's not quite ready.  Smile nicely when they play with the camera.

Once everything is well-heated, remove to a warm serving dish like a crock pot on its lowest setting or chafing dish.  Stir in cheese.  Now it's ready.  Fans are happy.

...And, hopeully your team is doing a little better than ours, this year. :)
