Beaded Necklace Tutorial by Guest Blogger No Time For Tea Parties

Happy Monday!  I have a new blogger for you today (and by new, I mean, Tamika has been blogging for about three weeks!)  But she's a great writer and an international mama with some awesome crafts and recipes.  And the name of her blog just about sums it all up:

No Time for Tea Parties

Take a minute to get to know Tamika, stop by her blog, maybe become a follower if you like what you see (and I think you will!)

Hello!  My name is Tamika Rybinski, and I am so excited to be a guest here at Happy Hour Projects.  I am a SAHM to three beautiful kids, an 8 year old, a 2 year old and a 3 month old baby. I am the wife to a wonderful man who was born and raised in Poland, we met in Oklahoma and are now raising our family in Austria.  We live a multicultural life that keeps me on my toes.  There are 3 languages in our home, and we are always learning something new.

I started my blog No Time for Tea Parties to give me a place to share and keep track of my creative activities.  I am learning to balance my time between all 5 of us, and that means I deserve some me time. It keeps me centered and creating is what I like to do during my alone time.  Blogging helps keep me accountable to that and I love to share my ideas. I am new to blogging and I am so looking forward to connecting with others in the blogging world.  What a perfect way to keep in touch and collect all of my ideas and creations. I enjoy making beads, painting, sewing, crafting, cooking and making jewelry.

Today I would like to share with you a necklace tutorial.

You will need:
Thread, corded wax or any other beading thread of your choosing
Several beads
Scissors

Take your thread and stretch it between your arms.  This is the length we will use for the necklace.  Fold it in half.

Make a knot in both sides of your string about 1/4 of the way down from the fold.
Add an odd number of beads.  I used 3 here. Make another knot.

About an inch and a half from there make a knot on each side, and add another odd number of beads.  I used five here, make another knot.

Repeat the process one more time.

Knot the 2 sides together.  Add a large bead in the middle. Make another knot, and then add little beads to decorate the remaining thread.  Cut off any excess.

There you have it!  A simple and beautiful new necklace.

Enjoy your beautiful creation!

I hope you enjoyed hearing a little about me and learning to make these cute little necklaces.  Thank you so much Adrianne for having me as a guest on your blog! I hope you all have a great week.  Take some time to do something you love today!

Tamika
