Want to be a guest blogger? I would LOVE to have you!
Guidelines for guest posts:
Let me say, first and foremost, I am a very laid-back blogger. I enjoy getting a feel for you and your blog by allowing you to express your style the way YOU want to. However, I want you to make the most of your time here. I also want to make preparing a post as stress-free and FUN as possible... it's Happy Hour, after all!
What I am looking for:
A presentation of a project, recipe, craft, blogging tip, home decor post, tutorial, etc... Not sure if what you do matches what I'm looking for? Email me, or browse what past bloggers have done! It's OK if you don't do the same things I do - in fact, it's even better! I love when I am able to share something by a fellow blogger that I would never be able to achieve on my own.
The themes at Happy Hour are:
- One-hour (or less) projects.
- Showing and sharing how to create and accomplish your project.
- And using what you have. Crafting shouldn't break the bank.
Your post does not have to follow all of these guidelines strictly, but as you decide what you might like to share, please use them as your inspiration.
If tutorials really aren't your thing, that's OK too! I'd love to have you host a giveaway to get you more exposure and grow your follower base. I use Rafflecopter to power my giveaways, which makes it SO easy for people to enter!
Interested?
Awesome! Fill out the form at the bottom of this page, and I will email you back to let you know when I am currently scheduling featured blogs! Once we work out a date, see below for how to proceed.
What you should include in your post:
An introduction of yourself and/or your blog. Include at least one picture! We creative bloggers are visual, after all! I don't like to tell you how to introduce yourself, but if you're really struggling with this part, try to include 1-2 sentences about you, how long you have been blogging and what made you get started, and what types of posts you share (including any posts you want to highlight specifically). Explain any special features you host, like link parties, giveaways, special events coming up, challenges you are competing in, etc.
Include photos in the body of your post. Self-explanatory.
It's no problem if you've never done this before. If you're looking for more information about how to prepare a guest post, I have a tutorial to walk you through it!
What to do if things fall through:
First of all, don't panic. If your project fails (hey - it has happened to me!) the first thing you should do is check your archives. You probably have a fantastic project or three (or more!) there already. Even if you have told me that you will be presenting something specific, it's never EVER set in stone. I'm flexible. Just use another post. It doesn't bother me at all if it's a revival of a project you enjoyed in the past!
If anything else happens and you really can't post when we agreed upon - please let me know as soon as possible so that I can get another post ready, or invite someone else. It's no big deal, and I will be glad to reschedule you if things come up in real-life!
Any questions you still have - just email me! Hope to see you in the spotlight!
